Covid (I hate even saying the word) has disrupted our lives immensely. We have all had to alter the way we live our lives and how we go about even the most mundane of activities. More than ever, I appreciate the small routines that I find joy in and that I am still about to do; binge watch our current favourite series, runs with Chloe, and, the most sacred of all of my routines, donuts at Revel on Saturday mornings.
There is such comfort in looking forward to, and enjoying, this simple anchor in our week. And though it does not look the same as it did pre-Covid – where we would linger for hours in the coffee shop, visiting with people and reading the paper – it still offers us the same comfort and feeling of normalcy we are craving.
This fall and winter, more than ever, we will be craving routines that bring us joy. Hopefully many of them can be carried over from our lives before Covid. But maybe we will have to establish some new ones too.
What are the routines that make you happy and help you to feel normal during these unsettling times?
Tennis has been my saving grace!
I agree – though sometimes I leave more stressed than when I came 😉
My morning tea – loose leaf from Distinctly Tea is a must.
Me too!
