I am absolutely obsessed with this hot fudge sauce from Smitten Kitchen! I have never eaten so much vanilla ice cream as I have in the week since I discovered this super easy recipe. It would make for such a great little gift for someone as well.
2 tablespoon unsalted butter
2/3 cup heavy or whipping cream
1/2 cup light corn syrup or honey
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 ounces chocolate, chopped (I got mine from Chocolate Barr’s!), or 1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine the first six ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Simmer on low, stirring, for 3 to 5 more minutes after everything has melted, then remove from heat and stir in chocolate. Stir in vanilla.
It’s ready! I would let it cool for about 20 minutes before pouring over ice cream. Pour leftovers into a jar and refrigerate for up to 2 months. Just reheat in the same jar every time you want to use it.
Enjoy!
