One of the best things about visiting my mother in law is when she makes us waffles for breakfast. She bought us our first waffle maker (we have been through many) and we exclusively use her homemade waffle recipe.
Serve with butter, syrup, icing sugar, fruit, fried chicken…however you like!
Mix together…
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Add to flour mixture…
2 beaten eggs
2 cups of milk
6 tablespoons of oil
Stir until combined. Pour into well heated waffle iron.
Yum!
A bit more…the best waffle makers of the year.
Bradshaws has this waffle maker available for $119. They are giving away a free Farmhouse Waffle mix with purchase – in case you are out of flour and can’t make them from scratch! Limited quantities available. They are also offering free local delivery. You can email them at sales@bradshawscanada.com and mention On the Bright Side!
What is your current waffle maker? Since we live in the states I can’t buy the one from Bradshaws. Can’t wait to try the recipe!
A Breville one – but we have all kinds. Any one will do!
Thanks for sharing your family recipe! I was inspired this morning to pull out our old waffle maker and give it a try. Well they were a big hit!! Both kids commented on how fluffy and yummy they tasted. This recipe will definitely become a new family favourite. I was grateful that it brought my family some joy this morning!💖🧇
I love that! Especially that you had a waffle maker kicking around that you don’t use! So glad everyone liked them. It really is the simple things.
